Rebekah Thawley receives the John Pritchard Award
Rebekah Thawley became the thirteenth recipient of the John Pritchard Award when she received her cheque from Doreen Pritchard.She has just started the first of a three year course for her BA Hons in Musical Theatre at the prestigious Arts Educational College, London.
The award was set up by MMTG in 1995 in memory of one of our founder members. John Pritchard was regarded by members of the group as a father figure who always had a friendly smile and gave encouragement to all the members. The award helps to support and assist in the training of young talent, both onstage and in other theatrical roles.
Rebekah attended Harlequin Stage School in Worcester since the age of three, with outstanding success at Dance Festivals both nationally and throughout the Midlands, and was a member of the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain appearing with them in Birmingham and London. Locally she has enjoyed performances with Kay???s Theatre Group and the Midland Musical Theatre Group.
Doreen said, ???I am delighted that Rebekah has been given this award. John saw her at a very early age and even then thought that she had a very special talent. We all wish her well.???
