A Selection of ???extracts??? from some of the emails and letters we have received

I came to the show at the Malvern Theatre with a group of friends and I just wanted to say, how excellent it was and thank you for such a great evening???s entertainment. I have to be honest in that I had never heard of you before; although I was with a group of friends from St. Richard???s Hospice in Worcester and they had heard of you! I have booked marked your web page and signed up for further updates. I look forward to attending more shows!

Thank you so much for yet another wonderful show. It really hit the spot. The costumes were superb, the singing was first class, and we all wanted to take the ballet dancers home. You have done it again. Thank you all once more.

Congratulations on a truly spectacular show. A marvellous night???s entertainment of the highest quality song, dance and comedy. The costumes, stage sets, lighting and use of modern technology was a revelation and to see the MMTG family together on stage and some of the background work involved in putting the show together was a lovely idea. It certainly brought home to those of us in the audience what a huge organisational undertaking the show is. I dare not think of the number of hours you all put in to reach such a high standard, thousands I guess.

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the performance last night: the performers and the Harlequin school dancers were superb and so professional. Enclosed is the Advanced booking form ??? wouldn???t want to miss it!

Yet again a wonderful show. Some lovely new voices this year and very good they are too. As always, the dancers won the hearts of all.

Hot off the Press
As the next Midland NODA magazine is not due out until June, Trevor Guest (Noda Area Rep) thought we might like to see a copy of his review.
???Another spectacular show from MMTG, continuing their successful formula in this special 30th production. Every year there seems to be news faces on stage amongst the more familiar performers but the high standard never falters and, in fact, seems to be energised by new talent. Wonderful sets, lighting, sound and costumes are always a feature and fixture of the shows. This year about fifty backroom boys and girls featured in the ???Red Hot Gospel??? segment showing the family spirit which personifies this always professional Company. Comedian and impressionist Barry North, Harlequin Dancers, and a splendid orchestra completed a very talented cast???.

2006 -CELEBRATE THE SEASON - Worcester News

Christmas show brims with feel-good kitsch

The Midland Musical Theatre Group's Celebrate the Season show was as kitsch as Christmas can get.
From the booming voiceover to the sprakling costumes it was a lavish and heart warming spectacle at Malvern Thetares on Tuesday night.
The show started with What a Swell Party and the singers, dressed to the nines, confidently crossed the stage floor in dance routines that I suspect were considerably harder to master than they made it look.
Dancing to Come Fly with Me and to Mr Bojangles were the talented Harlequin Dancers. Again, their costumes were very impressive.
The pace of the show ensurednthe audience was well entertained. During set changes brave Barry North, and I say brave because I don't know any woman who can wear heels that high, kept everybody smiling. His take on Dame Edna Everage had everyone howling with laughter, his impersoniation of Tom Jones had everyone blushing ( as did his poem Oh I Wish I'd Taken Care of my Chest ) and his version of Look for the Silver Lining got everybody singing along.
I left feeling very festive and with the impression that every perfomance by the company is a similarly feel-good affair.
if you like light hearted musicals you will love this show.
Celebrate the Season was dedicated to the group's much-loved chairman Steve Mayor, who passed away on Monday, November 20.

IAN IMRAY - The Mayor's Diary

11:13am Tuesday 5th December 2006
Did you see Billy Elliot, the story of a young dancer? Well here in Worcester we have Tom Edwards, our very own Billy Elliot.
Joan and I went to see the Midland Musical Theatre Group at Malvern Theatre as their guests, and what a magical experience it was. Good music and dancing, an absolutely hilarious comedian in Billy North and, of course, Tom. He is the only boy in the Harlequins dancing group and is excellent, a natural talent.
The day was tinged with sadness however as Steve Mayor, a colleague of mine from my police days, and chairman of the group was supposed to meet us but unfortunately he passed away last week. He would have been a proud man watching that show. Condolences to Ann and family.

CELEBRATE THE SEASON - Noda News Summer 2007

A sparkling show professionally performed and staged. The whole performance zipped along from section to section with Barry North the hilarious link-man. I particularly enjoyed his impressions of 'Dame Edna' and 'Pam Ayres'. The eight Song and Dance sections, excellently performed by the Company, were created by seven different Directors, and seamlessly joined together by Val Knight and Sue Wilson, the Producers. Harlequin Dancers were terrific. Costumes were stunning, lighting and sets superb, and the band excellent. The Company gave their all for Chairman Steve Mayor whom passed away suddenly the week before. He would have been so proud.
